For other linux distributions, or to install the cloudCompanion on a system where you do not have root access, we offer the AppImage version.
Depending on the version of the cloudCompanion you downloaded, your download file will have a slightly different file name. In this installation, we will be using the v1.2.0 file, but please change the version number accordingly. Our filename will be cloud-companion-1.2.0.AppImage
In contrast to other installation types, there isn’t an installation procedure for the AppImage.
After downloading the AppImage file, you need to make the downloaded file executable, and then you can directly run it. The process to do this is as follows.
Open a terminal window and change the folder where you downloaded the AppImage file.
Next, make the AppImage file executable by running:
chmod 755 ./cloud-companion-1.2.0.AppImage
Now you can execute the cloudCompanion by typing
./cloud-companion-1.2.0.AppImage
Or by double-clicking the file in your file manager.
Please make a note of where you downloaded the file because you will need this during the Comsol configuration step.
For next Step go back to System Set Up Page here and proceed with Step 5.
