Depending on the version of the cloudCompanion you downloaded, your download file will have a slightly different file name. In this installation, we will be using the v1.2.0 file, but please change the version number accordingly. Our filename will be cloud-companion-1.2.0-1.x86_64.rpm.
After downloading the cloud-companion-1.2.0-1.x86_64.rpm please install it like this:
Login as root, or use the su command to change to the root user at the workstation on which you want to install the software.
Next run:
rpm -i cloud-companion-1.2.0-1.x86_64.rpm
After the installation is completed, you can start the cloudCompanion from the Applications menu or by running the following command in a terminal window:
cloud-companion
To locate the cloudCompanion installation on your hard drive, run:
which cloud-companion
For most installations, this will have been installed in:
/usr/bin/cloud-companion
