Depending on the version of the cloudCompanion you downloaded, your download file will have a slightly different file name. In this installation, we will be using the v1.2.0 file, but please change the version number accordingly. Our filename will be cloud-companion_1.2.0_amd64.deb.
After downloading the cloud-companion_1.2.0_amd64.deb, please install it like this:
cd ~/Downloads
Please change this directory based on the location you downloaded the file to.
Install the file with this command:
sudo dpkg -i cloud-companion_1.2.0_amd64.deb
After installation, you can access the cloud companion from the applications menu. Alternatively, you can start the cloud companion from the terminal using the command:
cloud-companion
To locate the cloudCompanion installation on your hard drive, run:
which cloud-companion
For most installations, this will have been installed in:
/usr/bin/cloud-companion
